SecureSafe Pass: Known Limitations in the Current Mobile Version

This article outlines the current known limitations, feature gaps, and constraints in the latest mobile version of our product. Review these details to understand what is supported today and will be updates within the next releases.

Biometric Authentication

Users cannot use their figerprint/face identification to perfom authentication to enter the app.

Known Issue

This will impact usability. Users will need to manually input their master password everytime they want to login in the app.

Impact

  • Email is stored. User needs to input the password only (reducing imapct on usability)

  • Frustration for not having such a common method of authentication in-app

  • Does not impct autofill usage

Upcoming Improvement

Biometric authentication will be added in the next iterations of the mobile app. 

 


 

No Password Sorting/Filtering

Users cannot filter/order passwords in their list of Passwords.

Known Issue

When opening the app, after login, user will see a list of all passwords, ordered from A to Z, based on the title.

Impact

  • Minimal, since majority of use cases predicted for this, can be achieved by the Search.

  • Users can search for passwords based on username, title and safe

Upcoming Improvement

No improvements planned at the moment. 

 


 

No Category Management

Impact on categorizing created passwords on Mobile devices.

Known Issue

Users cannot add new categories, and cannot delete existing categories. This actions can only be done on the web version of the app.

Impact

  • Impacts usability and a key flow. Users can be “stoped” from creating a password on mobile, if they cannot add a new category at the moment of password creation.

  • May result in suboptimal user experience.

Upcoming Improvement

Addition of new categories is planned as an improvement for the next iterations of the mobile app.

 


 

No Security Settings Changes

Users cannot change any global SecureSafe settings, or User settings (email, phone number) on the mobile app.

Known Issue

Its not an issue, but decided to include this topic here for awareness purposes. To make changes to this settings, the user needs to use the web version of the app.

Impact

  • May result in some user frustration.

Upcoming Improvement

We will be looking at user feedback to understand the demand for a feature like this.

 


 

User Management and Team Safe Creation/Edit

Admin Users cannot perform any user management actions on the mobile app, as well as Team safe management (create, change name, and add members).

Known Issue

This is not considered an issue.
