Managing Passwords in a Team Safe: How to Add Passwords and Use Them

Adding a Password to a Team Safe

  1. Log in to your SecureSafe account.
  2. Access the dropdown menu for safes.

    From the expanded dropdown menu for safes, select an existing safe in the Team section.
  3. From the now expanded dropdown menu, select an existing safe in the Team section.
  4. Within the team safe's sidebar menu on the left, select Passwords.

    Within the "Passwords" categories panel, simply click on the "Add password" button to add a new password to your team safe.
  5. Within the Passwords categories panel, simply click on the Add password button.
  6. In the Add password window, enter a descriptive title for your password in the designated Title field.

    Populate all the fields in the "Add password" window.
  7. Next, add the web address of the relevant login page you want to add a password for into the Website (login) field. Alternatively, you can paste a copied web address into this field.
  8. Add your username into the Username field. This is the username that is associated with the login page defined in the previous step.
  9. In order to add a Password to this login record, you can either create a password yourself (a.), or generate a password (b., c.), using the integrated SecureSafe password generator:
    1. Type a strong password into the Password field.
    2. Or, generate a random password by performing the following actions:
      1. Click Generate password. In the window that displays, select the Random password generation type.
      2. View the random password that was created by the generator.
      3. By clicking the refresh button, you can generate a new random password, should you wish to do so.
      4. The password Strength indicator will allow you to ensure that the password created in the previous steps is strong.
      5. The length slider allows you to lengthen the generated password to any length up to 32 characters long.
      6. Optionally, to customize your generated password, you can select and unselect the following elements:
        • lowercase only
        • use special characters
        • use numbers
      7. Confirm by clicking Done.
    3. Or, generate a memorizable password by performing the following actions:
      1. Click Generate password. In the window that displays, select the Memorizable password generation type.
      2. View the memorizable password that was created by the generator.
      3. By clicking the refresh button, you can generate a new memorizable password, should you wish to do so.
      4. The password Strength indicator will allow you to ensure that the password created in the previous steps is strong.
      5. Confirm by clicking Done.
  10. Toggle the switch to reveal or hide your entered or generated password easily.
  11. The password Strength indicator will allow you to ensure that the password created in the previous steps is strong.
  12. The Comment field allows you to optionally add a comment about your password.
  13. Confirm by clicking Done.

Importing multiple passwords at once into a team safe or organizing passwords into categories is not currently supported. This functionality is exclusive to private safes. Using Saved Passwords in a Team Safe

Follow the steps outlined below to use passwords you have added to your team safe:

  1. Log in to your SecureSafe account.
  2. Access the dropdown menu for safes.

    From the expanded dropdown menu for safes, select an existing safe in the Team section.
  3. From the now expanded dropdown menu, select an existing safe in the Team section.
  4. Within the team safe's sidebar menu on the left, select Passwords.

    From the main panel, select the password record you want to use, then copy the username and the password from this record by clicking on the clipboard icon.
  5. From the main panel, view your list of passwords.

  6. Select one of the password records listed and use theClick the clipboard icon to copy your username from your password record.icon next to the Username. This copies the username to your clipboard, from where you can paste it into the username field in the corresponding application's authentication screen.

    1. From the same password record, use theClick the clipboard icon to copy the password from your password record.icon next to the Password. This action copies the password to your clipboard, allowing you to easily paste it into the password field on the authentication screen of the relevant application.
    2. When a password record is selected, the collapsible sidebar on the right will display some additional options such as EditDeleteGenerate a new password. Additionally, the sidebar offers further details regarding the selected password record. You can also right-click on the password in the list and access the same options from the context menu that appears.

    Caution: Please be careful about leaving copied items in your clipboard if other users have access to your device.
