SecureSafe (Next) vs. SecureSafe (Classic): Why your login credentials or passwords may not appear in the mobile app
If your login credentials aren’t working in the mobile app or your passwords are not showing up, the most common reason is that the wrong SecureSafe app is installed.
SecureSafe currently offers two different versions of the service – SecureSafe (Next) and SecureSafe (Classic) – and each has its own dedicated mobile app.
Your data (including passwords and files) is only available in the app that matches the version you are using.
This article explains how to check which version you are using and how to download the correct app.
1. SecureSafe (Next) and SecureSafe (Classic) use different apps
To ensure a smooth and secure transition to the new platform, SecureSafe Next and SecureSafe Classic are currently operated as separate systems.
This means:
-
Credentials created for SecureSafe (Next) do not work in the SecureSafe (Classic) app.
-
Passwords stored in SecureSafe (Classic) do not appear in the SecureSafe (Next) app, and vice versa.
Using the correct app is therefore essential for accessing your data.
2. How to check which SecureSafe version you are using
You are a SecureSafe (Next) user if:
-
You recently (after June 2025) created a new SecureSafe account, or
-
You have already switched to SecureSafe (Next).
You are a SecureSafe (Classic) user if:
-
You have an older SecureSafe account (before June 2025) that has not been migrated yet.
If you are unsure, check the welcome email you received or the interface shown when you log in the web version of the app.
3. Download the correct mobile app
For SecureSafe (Next) users
For SecureSafe (Classic) users
Once you have installed the right app, your login credentials and your saved passwords will work as expected.
